Last Updated: January 2026 | Health and Insurance Guidance
This disclaimer explains Trip2Go's position on travel insurance, health preparation, medical declarations, and destination entry requirements.
Trip2Go arranges travel services and documentation support. We are not an insurer, doctor, clinic, or medical authority, and travellers remain responsible for choosing suitable cover and confirming they are fit to travel.
Key Points
Insurance strongly recommended
Travellers should arrange comprehensive cover as soon as a booking is made.
Medical responsibility
Trip2Go is not a medical adviser. Travellers must confirm fitness to travel with qualified professionals.
Entry health rules
Vaccination, medication, and destination health requirements can change and must be checked before travel.
Pre-existing conditions
Medical conditions, pregnancy, and special needs should be declared to insurers and carriers before departure.
1 Why Travel Insurance Matters
International travel can involve illness, injury, cancellations, lost documents, baggage issues, delays, and emergency return costs. Trip2Go strongly recommends comprehensive travel insurance from the time you book.
- Medical cover: Emergency treatment, hospital stays, ambulance support, and repatriation can be expensive without insurance.
- Cancellation cover: A suitable policy may help recover losses if illness, injury, or family emergency prevents travel.
- Baggage and documents: Cover should address theft, loss, damage, or replacement costs for personal belongings and travel documents.
- Personal liability: Some policies include protection for accidental injury or damage claims made by third parties.
2 Health Rules and Vaccinations
Destination health rules are not fixed and may vary by nationality, transit route, recent travel history, and public health guidance.
- Doctor or travel clinic: Speak to a GP, pharmacist, or travel clinic well before departure, ideally at least 8 weeks in advance.
- Official guidance: Check UK FCDO and destination authority guidance for entry, vaccination, and safety updates.
- Medication: Carry prescriptions or a doctor letter where needed and check whether your medication is permitted in the destination country.
3 GHIC and EHIC for European Travel
UK travellers visiting eligible European destinations may benefit from carrying a valid GHIC or EHIC card.
These cards can help with access to state healthcare, but they do not replace travel insurance and do not usually cover private treatment, rescue costs, repatriation, cancellations, or lost belongings.
4 Pre-Existing Conditions and Pregnancy
Travellers must declare relevant medical history, pregnancy, medication, mobility needs, and recent treatment to their insurer and airline where required.
- Insurance disclosure: Failure to declare a condition can invalidate insurance or reduce cover.
- Airline rules: Airlines may restrict carriage after certain stages of pregnancy or require medical clearance.
- Boarding refusal: Trip2Go is not responsible for costs caused by airline refusal where health, documentation, or clearance requirements are not met.
5 Health Emergencies and Force Majeure
Trip2Go is not liable for losses caused by events outside our control, including epidemics, pandemics, quarantine rules, border closures, severe weather, security incidents, strikes, or government restrictions.
In these situations, your travel insurance policy and supplier terms will usually determine your available remedy.
